Grace Life Community Church has been a part of our local community for over 30 years. Founded in the mid-1970’s as Faith Baptist Church, we met at Bennett Elementary school for several years. In the early 1980’s a beautiful piece of property off of Vint Hill Road was donated and a small church building was constructed and occupied. On Easter Sunday, 1987 Faith Baptist Church combined with another local area church and assumed the name Old Dominion Baptist Church with a renewed vision to reach the community with the gospel.
In 1998 Bob Perdue was called to pastor the church and our church family outgrew the little church building on Schaeffer Lane. Beginning in 2002 we again met off-site for Sunday worship in college and school auditoriums while maintaining staff offices at the church. After a 3 year process, God provided generously through the sacrificial gifts of God’s people and a beautiful new church building was constructed on 11.4 acres on Linton Hall Road across from the Linton Hall School. Our first worship service in the new facility was held on May 21, 2006 as a celebration of God’s remarkable faithfulness to our community of faith through the years.
In 2010 our church family voted to change the name of our church to Grace Life Community Church, reaffirming that God has called this body of believers to serve our immediate community with the life changing message of the gospel. GLCC exists to help people choose to experience the life God always intended (John 10:10).
On Aug. 21, 2013 Bob Perdue resigned as Senior Pastor of GLCC. Currently Steve Benedict shepherds the congregation in partnership with congregationally elected Elders, Deacons, and a Board of Directors.
